Rockstar Birthday!

Kaden turned 6 last Saturday so we threw a huge party. Some would say it was over the top, but that’s how I live!

My dad and I built a stage and got a sound system and rock the backyard, it was so loud we rocked the entire neighborhood! I was so proud!

A few months ago Kaden told me he wrote a song called “Spider Life”. I said that was cool, then he sang it for me. I recorded it using Garage Band and 5 original songs later he has his own CD out. Yes he wrote 5 songs and I recorded them and we now have a CD of his own music. It rocks.

Here’s just a few pictures from his party. More to come!

My Day Yesterday.

Short clips of my day, no music overlay and no edits.

8 Years…

Wow, time has flown by. 8 years, 2 boys, 3 jobs, 3 cities, many different addresses.

The journey has been filled with joy, laughter, pain, tough times, challenging times, rewarding times, and we are still standing together hand in hand.

I am a better man because of you, your love, your kindness.

Thank you Lord for your blessing and the special gift you have given me.

May I honor you in our marriage.

Love You Amy!

Happy Birthday Amy!

I hope you have a great day today! You are a wonderful mother, loving and supportive wife, and a faithful friend!

God has given us many years together, so many memories, good times, and a few hard times. Thank you for always being there for our family, and for loving us and providing for us.

I hope through the special things the boys and I do for you over the next few days you will feel as special as you are to us!

Love you Amy!

Happy Birthday Momma!

Today we celebrate my moms birthday. She deserves the grandest party with the most special people in attendance. One of many things that makes my mom special is she has always made a huge deal of my birthdays. On her blog she will dig up the oldest pictures and post them. She even has posted a picture of me in my whitey tighteys…

She pulls out all the stops, she calls and sings to me, she makes me a “birthday chair”, the cake, the presents, the good food! She knows how to make everyone feel special.

I grabbed a few pictures that I had and made this one picture. In it you will see her and dad with kids and grandkids. Each picture tells of a special time in our lives shared with a special woman, mom.

Mom, you have always made sure I was taken care for, loved, and encouraged. Your love has made me who I am today.

Happy Birthday Momma!

It’s For You Not Others

As a Pastor and leader, I am always trying to live in a open place where I can hear from God. I have this weird feeling often that it’s my place to help confirm and instruct others in what God is speaking…I know that sounds like a load of ….

Recently God has been speaking really loud in a few areas of my life. My first thought was to write these things down in my moleskin and to be ready to share it with someone in my life. God has spoken to me for me to share it with someone else, they needed to hear it.

I can not tell you how many times I have been in services when the speaker has said that God has spoken to them to then share it with others. I do agree that God does give insight in His Word and the Holy Spirit will lead us to share that insight with others. There is a fine line between God giving me revelation for me and God giving me revelation for others. I am trying to learn that difference.

The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to bring glory to Christ, but also to convict us of sin. I have found that people don’t like talking about conviction of sin…

I have such a long way to go…but here’s a thought that I can’t shake off:

The Holy Spirit will convict me and grow me in my weakness, that is not for others, that is for me.
